Our Story
Discover North - Born from the Trail
In the summer of 2022, two friends were on a 3-month trek across Kashmir, working for other adventure companies—setting up camps, guiding, doing what they loved. But in the stillness of the mountains, a louder idea began to echo between them:
"Why not start our own journey?"
That's where it began. Most Himalayan treks lie in the north—and from that thought, Discover North was born. No big launch. No investors. Just an Instagram page, old trek photos, and a dream.
Soon, a third friend joined the vision, and in December 2022, we hosted our first rock climbing workshop in Dehradun—with just 3 participants. But it was a start. We ran more workshops, month after month, steadily building our skills, network, and name.
Then came our first steps into the world of trekking. For seven long months, the bookings barely trickled in. We were passionate, but green—struggling to understand marketing, sales, and how to turn a dream into something sustainable.
But we weren't just waiting—we were observing. Having worked with other companies, we took the best things they offered—strong logistics, safety, and planning—and consciously fixed the gaps we'd seen: poor communication, lack of personal care, or cookie-cutter experiences. Our mission was simple: give people the kind of mountain experience we always wished someone gave us.
Doubt still crept in. Motivation wavered. One of us chose to step away.
But the remaining two kept showing up. Kept climbing. Kept believing.
Then came our turning point: our first big group of 14 trekkers. No more rented gear—we took a leap of faith and invested in our own equipment. That decision changed everything. The trek was a success, the energy was real, and the best part? People started recommending us.
Word of mouth spread like fire in the alpine wind. And from that moment, Discover North wasn't just a name—it became a growing community. Today, we guide treks across the Himalayas, from beginner hikes to high-altitude expeditions.
We're still growing. Still learning. But the mountains taught us one thing early on:
Keep moving forward—and the trail will reveal itself.
